Google Cloud Partner Of The Year Awards
Design + Branded Social Assets
Google Cloud Next is an annual conference that serves as a platform for Google Cloud to showcase its latest products, technologies, and innovations to developers, IT professionals, and businesses. The event includes keynote presentations, technical sessions, and opportunities for networking and collaboration.
An integral part of Google Cloud’s Next conference is the Partner of the Year Awards, where outstanding partners are recognized for their achievements in leveraging Google Cloud services within their organizations (to deliver transformative solutions).
I was responsible for designing the Google Cloud Partner of the Year trophy. By working closely with the Google Cloud team, I created concepts, technical sketches, and 3D renders that were then presented to the larger team and ultimately used by a local vendor to produce the final product. The trophy was handed out to the winners directly at the event and, as of 2024, has been used as the main trophy design for two years.

Google Cloud sought to create a trophy that addressed some of the issues faced with trophies from previous years.
Trophies made with metal or glass weren’t cost effective due to increased material and shipping costs. Acrylic and resin trophies strayed from Google’s sustainability efforts.
The challenge was creating an eye-catching trophy that was eco-freindly but also lightweight enough to reduce cost.

Various concepts were first explored through sketching and then refined through early 3D renders.
The final trophy design was created in Blender and featured a pillar-like structure that would display the Google Cloud icon large enough to be easily recognizable from a distance. It also had ample space for the logo, winner name, and category to fit comfortably on the face of the trophy.

Along with creating a physical trophy for the Google Cloud Partner of the Year, we also created animated illustrations that Google Cloud could use to promote the event across social media and display at the NEXT conference.
